Katie Hill the Artist

I am an artist whose specialty is Colorado and Alaska landscape and flowers. Growing up in Alaska I was influenced by my surroundings and inspired by landscape paintings of my grandmothers. My legion of collectors grows as my work becomes more well known. I continues to develop my artistic talent through experiencing new techniques and media, displaying my paintings locally and participating in groups whose goals are promoting the arts.

My paintings capture the depth of scenes using contrasts in values. The shadows are subtle but the areas in the sunshine glow. My paintings are either moody or serene but never dull. Some are photo realistic and some are more impressionistic depending on my interpretation of the subject. My 24"x30" oil painting, John Otto, was jurored into the 2013 Art Center Fine Arts Auction and sold to a collector.
